My standard daily practice is to select one device at the start of a day, forward tasks on that device and then wait until the update posts on other devices before making edits on those devices. With the OD release for Mountain Lion I would sometimes find it necessary to re-sync the iPad copy (and, yes, this is a surprisingly annoying process … but it works). The iCloud sync feature has been working much more reliably in release 2.7.1 under Mavericks … but it doesn’t “just work” reliably 100% of the time. I prefer the MacBook version for day-to-day maintenance of my work, and generally use the Mobile versions for minor updates. It’s really, really great to have my schedule and tasks where ever I happen to be, and to be able to post updates from whatever device is at hand. I now run OD Pro on my Macbook and OD Mobile Pro on iPad and iPhone. Combined with OD’s integration with Apple’s Calendar.app, OD manages my life. I’ve been using OD on MacBook since about version 1.5, sometime in early 2011. Best task management system available 5/5.Give it a try and see if it works for you. However many are starting to embrace the GTD and Stephen Covey’s Quadrant 4 time management so that crowd will probably not dig this app. That way you can prioritize yours A (most important tasks first then move on to the “Bs” and “Cs". My favorite thing about it is being able to rank tasks on your task list as “A1”, “A2", “A3", “B1", “C3" the way I learned from a time management consultant. Hopefully they’ll continue to develop it and improve it. I think it works well in a majority of situations where you are syncing to Apples servers. Hopefully they setup the correct calendar which can be confusing for Mac novices.Īs far as calendars go I love the look. I also wonder if some of the people who’ve had issues with syncing really understood how it works with sync. nvALT syncs when quitting the app so I am guaranteed to have notes or lists I need. So their complaints may be misdirected.Īs my own personal work around to this problem I started using Simple Note (web client) and Notational Velocity, (later switching to NValt which is a fork of Notational velocity). Many times I have added something needing access to it only to find it never synced to begin with and I was stuck out somewhere away from my computer and missing the information I had expected to have at my finger tips. To be fair, Apple’s apps don’t sync well either. There are quite a few reviewers here who mentioned slow syncing or Opus Domini not syncing at all. It does sync with the Apple Calendar.app, tasks, and, Reminders. If you started out using old school planner systems that were the de facto standard then you’ll feel right at home with this calendar/planner.
